I have to say, you all have totally rocked my world. Thank you for sharing your "desert" stories with me and for encouraging me in my new blog. I am looking forward to where we will go over the next several posts. As some of you mentioned, the desert can be a real location or an emotional one, either way, the desert isn't always fun, but it is nice to know that you are not alone on the journey of refinement.
Gotee man, I did not publish your comment because it was very honest. I wasn't sure if you wanted it posted or if you were hoping I would keep it private. I did not want to do anything that would devalue the things you shared but I will say, "keep trukin' brotha" and may God bless you richly for your perseverance.
I've got lots of mushy stuff to share but I figure I will do it in small doses. I don't want yall to think we come here just to slop sugar on each other, so I thought I would give you a little nugget that I discovered last night while I was reading in Genesis.
There is a verse in chapter 2 that mentions Adam and Eve being naked but not being ashamed (which is important because the first thing they did after eating the fruit was realize they were naked and hid) however that is not the point I am trying to focus on....what struck me was that it really must have been paradise if they could stand there naked and not laugh or be embarrassed...too bad we only get to chapter three before it all changes. Ladies, for a short while, there was no cellulite, or muffin tops, or bagel belly (that is when you mush your belly fat together with your hands around your belly button...try it, it looks like a bagel...or a butt). One bite and it all came undone. Praise God he made a way to right it....plus He had someone invent spanx and elastic waist lines.

Just for thought....have you discovered anything new this week? I would love to hear about it...funny or mushy, it is all good.
(PS- I have corrected some spelling errors, thanks to a friendly blog tipper...however, if people spend too much time checking my spelling, they won't have anytime left for themselves. Oh well, I may not be able to spell but I can get wicked height on my hair.)

I have discovered pumpkin pancakes at The Original Pancake house, which add to my bagel belly. :)
My baby, on the other hand, has discovered how to pull herself to standing and walk around furniture, which is a much greater (and healthier) accomplishment than me.
Amber, I am so glad that God turned the light on for you and has shown you the beauty in your desert.
This week I realized that sometimes God will go out of His way to put obstacles in our path to keep us from straying from His will. I had made several very bad decisions and set some things in motion that would have turned out very bad for me. I've been down this road once before but was still determined that it was WHAT I WANTED. God had other plans and roadblocked me...not once, not twice....but three times. Praise be to Him...I see the error of my ways and realize what I have and how I don't want to screw it up.
I am so glad that you passed your course too...it's just a piece of paper but it means SO MUCH MORE. You'll be a better person for having done this.
Take care!

This week I have realized that I can't do it all...I know, suprising and all. I am not SUPERWOMAN, I am not SUPERMOM, and I am not SUPERWIFE...
I must go to the King to show my the order of the day:)
I discovered that I'm ready to be pregnant again! Baby #3 has scared me...everything's neat and tidy with 2 kids. But I suddenly realized that YUP! I'm ready! (now if I could just convince my hubby...)
:)
I've discovered that sometimes the Lord gives us experiances to give us perspective, to help us walk in someone elses shoes so we can understand.
I discovered again this morning - as I do every morning that I am really paying attention - that God has made a truly marvelous and wonderful place for His children to dwell.

i have actually discovered that ANYTHING can fit in your nose...i mean ANYTHING....just ask my soon to be 2 year old! (whew)

i tend to think bible stories aren't to be taken literally. thoughs?
Anonymous-
There are some people that say the bible is more of a "guide" or that it is to be taken more figuratively, however, I view it as history and therefore I do take it literally. If you would like to know more about why I see it as fact, please email me and I will be happy to email you back...if my computer doesn't quit on me again. I am not setting up a debate blog here, but anyone with an open mind who really wants to know why I believe what is welcome to email me. I am planning on blogging about why I view the bible as truth in the future, but for now, it is hit and miss if I can even get on the computer.
So glad to have found you from 4 angels mama. Great you have 2 blogs, one for everyone and another you feel won't offend people. God has given you quite a knack to express your faith with humor and brains.
My best friend set me up a blog just so I can comment. I am not a writer but love reading others blogs. I will be back to visit dear Sister.
God is teaching me to deal with pain without to much complaining and whining. I'm a wimp and have been suffering 6 months with ortho stuff. I know I'm being healed. Just need to hang with HIM.
